Wholesale FAQ

Common questions from trade buyers.

Wholesale ordering, products and formats, sourcing, samples, logistics and private label — answered for UK trade buyers.

Wholesale Ordering

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes. Sun & Spice is a wholesale supplier. Trade pricing is shared on application based on the products, formats and volumes you are interested in.

Do you supply small retailers?

Yes. We work with independent shops, delis, farm shops and growing retailers alongside larger trade customers. Minimums are flexible for retailers in the early stages of their range.

What are your minimum order quantities?

Minimums depend on the product, pack format and supply route. Indicative ranges are listed on our MOQ page. We confirm exact minimums at the point of pricing once we understand your business.

How do I place a wholesale order?

Start with a trade account application. We share pricing, formats and lead times, and walk through the right product and supply rhythm for your business before you commit.

Products & Formats

Do you offer bulk packs for restaurants and cafés?

Yes. Food service formats are available alongside retail-ready packs, sized for kitchen use and consistent service.

Can I supply Sun & Spice products in my retail shop?

Yes. We work with farm shops, delis, organic stores, premium grocers and specialist food retailers. See our retailers page for more, or apply for a trade account.

What categories do you supply?

Core spices, signature blends and a coconut range, with tea, wellness and food service formats expanding through the year. The full range is on our range page.

Sourcing

Are your spices sourced from Sri Lanka?

Yes. Sri Lanka is our core sourcing region, with long-standing supplier relationships across categories such as cinnamon, pepper, cardamom and chilli.

Why Sri Lanka specifically?

Sri Lanka has a strong spice heritage, distinctive flavour profiles and a recognised origin position for products like Ceylon cinnamon. The combination of climate, soil and tradition gives the spices their character.

Do you visit your suppliers?

We invest in long-term supplier relationships rather than buying on spot price. That includes the kind of ongoing communication and quality checks that genuine relationships need.

What accreditations do you hold?

SALSA, BRC and organic certification are currently in application. Today we operate with origin documentation, supplier audits, batch traceability and sensory checks on arrival in the UK. Procurement teams can request our current quality position at the point of enquiry.

Samples

Do you offer trade samples?

Yes. Trade samples are available on request to help you assess products before placing a wholesale order. Request samples with your business details and the products you would like to see.

Are samples free?

Sample policy depends on the products and pack sizes involved. We confirm any costs at the point of request before we dispatch.

Logistics

Do you handle import and documentation?

Yes. We manage freight, customs, duties and import documentation. You buy from a UK business and we deal with everything else.

How long does delivery take?

UK delivery is usually within a few business days of order confirmation, depending on the product and volume. Lead times for new orders are confirmed at the point of pricing.

Where are you based?

Sun & Spice is a UK-based supplier. Stock is held and dispatched from the UK to UK trade customers.

What if products arrive damaged?

We resolve damaged or missing goods quickly. Notify us within a reasonable window of receiving the order and we arrange a replacement or credit.

Private Label

Can you support private label packaging?

Yes. We work with food brands and retailers on private label spice ranges, from sourcing to packaging. See the private label page for more.

What products work for private label?

Single spices, signature blends, the coconut range and select food service formats. Some products are easier to private label than others, and we are upfront about what is practical at your stage.

What are private label minimums?

Private label minimums depend on the product, packaging complexity and the supply route involved. Once we understand your brand and target volumes, we will be clear about what is feasible.
