Indicative Minimums

Real numbers to plan against.

Single-SKU minimums by pack type. Adjustments are usually possible when several SKUs run in the same production window.

Pack typeFormatMinimum first run
Glass jar40–80g, branded label500 units per SKU
Refill pouch100–250g stand-up pouch1,000 units per SKU
Tin or kraft tube50–100g, custom artwork1,000 units per SKU
Sample / sachet5–15g for boxes or PR2,000 units per SKU

Tooling, plate or print-setup costs apply only on first artwork, repeat runs pick up from where the previous one left off. We're transparent about these costs upfront so the first run doesn't have surprises in the invoice.

Realistic Timeline

From first call to dispatched first run.

What 6–10 weeks actually looks like for a private-label launch.

Week 0–1

Brief & feasibility

Category, volumes, format direction, indicative pricing. Sample ingredients on the way.

Week 1–3

Spec & samples

Recipe iteration, sensory rounds, agreed final spec sheet. Allergen and origin paperwork drafted.

Week 3–6

Artwork & procurement

Label artwork signed off against the spec. Glass, pouch or tin procurement against the agreed first-run quantity.

Week 6–10

Production & dispatch

First run packed, QC'd, labelled and palletised. Dispatched to your fulfilment address or 3PL.

Tighter timelines are possible when you bring your own approved packaging or are willing to start from one of our standard pack formats. Longer timelines come into play when allergen testing or external certification is part of the spec.

Who This Works For

Three patterns we see most often.

Independent deli ranges

A 4–6 SKU house range, turmeric, cinnamon, signature curry, a chilli blend, for a single deli or small retail group. Glass jars, branded label, kept lean.

Typical first run: 500–1,000 units per SKU.

Restaurant house blends

A signature curry blend, chai mix, or proprietary rub branded for the restaurant, for retail sale alongside the kitchen, or as a takeaway/gift product.

Typical first run: 1,000–2,000 units of a single hero SKU.

Subscription & gift boxes

Sample-sized sachets or small jars for monthly recipe boxes, hampers, or PR seeding programmes. Designed for repeat scheduled production rather than one-shot runs.

Typical cadence: 2,000–5,000 units per month, rolling.
